On Sunday 12 November 2023 there will be a remembrance service and parade in Wheatley Hill.
The parade will start at the bottom of Patton Walk at 10.15am and march to All Saints Church for a service led by Rt Rev Sarah Clark, Bishop of Jarrow at 10.45am.
Following the service the parade will march to the Cenotaph in Wheatley Hill Cemetery. The parade will be led by the Bishop and Trimdon Brass Band.
At the Cenotaph there will be an opening prayer, a hymn, a poem, laying of wreaths, The Exhortation, Last Post, two minutes silence, Reveille and a closing prayer. This will be followed by The Dedication and National Anthem.
The Heritage Centre will be open for refreshments before and after the service.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
